If you would like to focus on a non-essential activity of a craft subject to licensing and have a relevant journeyman's training, you must register in the directory of your local Chamber of Crafts.

Chambers of skilled crafts represent the interests of the entire skilled crafts sector in a chamber district. They have the task of promoting the companies in the region and supporting their interests through self-administration.

If you are self-employed and carry out a non-essential activity of a craft subject to licensing, which quantitatively constitutes the predominant part of your commercial activity and is carried out in a craft business form, and have a journeyman's training in a craft subject to licensing, the training content of which has prepared you for the activity carried out, you are a compulsory member of the Chamber of Skilled Crafts.

When you start your commercial activity, you must apply for registration in the register of persons pursuant to Section 90 (3) and (4) HwO. The Chamber of Skilled Crafts in whose district your commercial establishment is located is responsible.

As soon as you belong to the Chamber of Skilled Crafts, you can use the offers and services of your Chamber of Skilled Crafts.

• Copy of the identity card or a comparable identification document
• Copy of business registration (can be submitted after registration)

• Self-employed exercise of a non-essential activity of a craft subject to licensing.
• This activity makes up the majority of the commercial activity in quantitative terms and is carried out in the form of a craft business.
• The applicant has completed a journeyman's course in a craft subject to licensing, the training content of which has prepared him for the activity carried out. Certain preparatory training measures which essentially correspond to a completed journeyman's training are deemed to be equivalent.
