You cannot, or can no longer, pay the costs of your child's daycare? You may be exempt from the parental contribution.
Looking after a child in a daycare facility (KiTa) is free of charge for you up to a certain level of care. If the care period is longer, you as a parent may have to pay part of the care costs (parental contribution). If you are unable to pay the parental contribution or can no longer pay it, you can apply for it to be waived.
Documents with which you can prove that the financial burden of the daycare fees is not or no longer reasonable for you (for example: job seeker registration, current pay slips, new employment contract, notice of the granting of social benefits)
- Your child attends a daycare facility (KiTa) that provides more than 25 hours of care per week
- Your income situation has changed and the financial burden of the daycare fees is no longer reasonable for you and/or
- You get
- Unemployment benefit II or social benefit
- Assistance with living expenses (social assistance) or basic security in old age and in the event of incapacity for work
- Benefits under the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act,
- Housing benefit
- Child supplement according to the Federal Child Benefit Act
- You submit your application together with the necessary documents.
- The responsible authority will examine your application and, if necessary, request any necessary documents or information from you.
- You will receive a written notification with the decision on your application.
