If you want to work in an academic or non-academic health profession abroad, you will usually need proof of your acquired qualifications (education certificate). You will also need a certificate of good standing. This confirms that you are entitled to practice your profession without restrictions. The certificate also shows that no professional or disciplinary measures have been taken against you.

You can obtain a certificate of clearance upon application from the locally responsible authority in the federal state in which you practice or last practiced your profession.

Erforderliche Unterlagen

  • Proof of identity and, if applicable, name change certificates
  • Application for a clearance certificate (available online)
  • Proof of activity in this profession
  • Certification from the relevant professional association regarding the data held there (certificate of good conduct)

Provided that:
  • Certificate of approval
  • Certificate of permission to use the professional title,
  • Certificate of completed training

If titles acquired accordingly are to be included in the clearance certificate:
  • Doctoral certificate
  • Certificates of further training
Documents that you submit as copies must be officially certified. The certification must not have been carried out more than three months before the application. As an alternative to certification, you can submit the original of the document at the same time as the copy.
