The city of Hamburg offers a social discount on HVV season tickets for certain service recipients.
The city of Hamburg offers a social discount for people living in Hamburg who receive a subsistence benefit from a Hamburg service provider. This makes it possible to purchase discounted season tickets for local public transport (HVV). The discount is currently 30.00 euros.
The social rebate can only be given to people who receive subsistence benefits from a Hamburg service provider (also topping up). This includes the following types of services:
SGB II (citizen's allowance) - job center team.arbeit.hamburg
SGB XII (aid for subsistence) - district offices / specialist offices basic security
Asylum Seekers Benefits Act (AsylbLG) - district offices/ specialist offices for basic security / office for migration
This also applies to household members. The place of residence must be in Hamburg.
No discount for housing benefit recipients (since this is not a subsistence benefit, but a subsidy towards housing costs).

Benefit recipients can order a discounted season ticket from the HVV service points by submitting an application form and their identification document. It is not necessary to contact the benefit processing department.
The application form can either be downloaded from the HVV website or picked up from the following information desks:
The service recipients must sign the completed application form and hand it in to the HVV service points to purchase tickets, along with their identification document.
The HVV service points will check the identity on site and confirm it on the form.
The service recipients then receive the monthly or subscription card.
The application form is then forwarded to the social security authority for sample purposes.

- Specialist offices for basic security and social affairs in the districts

- HVV service points
