Grundbuch: Eintragung

The land register serves the legal transactions with land. In particular, the land registers record the ownership structure and the private-law encumbrances of the land such as rights of way, mortgages, land or pension debts.

Anyone who demonstrates a legitimate interest can inspect the land register or apply for copies (subject to a fee).

If, for example, ownership of a property is to be transferred, i.e. a property is to be bought or sold or a mortgage on a property is to be created, an entry in the land register is required.

• The applicant is the owner of the property.
• The applicant's right is affected by this registration.
• When transferring ownership of a property, the agreement on the change in law must be proven in notarial form.
• All authorisation and declarations must be in the form of public or publicly certified documents.
