The statutory health insurance (dental) medical associations have the task of ensuring contractual (dental) medical care in the federal states. This also applies to times when the practices of established (dental) doctors are closed (medical on-call service – dental emergency service).

You can reach the medical on-call service free of charge by calling 116117 – no matter from where in Germany you call.

The medical on-call service is responsible in the evenings, at night, on weekends and on public holidays for illnesses with which you would normally consult a general practitioner if the treatment cannot wait until the next day for medical reasons. If necessary, home visits are also carried out.

Immediate assistance in the event of life-threatening emergencies or serious accidents, on the other hand, is the responsibility of the rescue service, which can be reached on 112 .

The dental emergency service is organized in Rhineland-Palatinate on behalf of the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists by the District Dental Chambers Palatinate, Rheinhessen, Koblenz and Trier . Further information on working hours and the dentist on duty can be found on the websites of the District Dental Associations. Outside office hours, please contact your family dentist or another dental practice you trust. You will receive further information on the tape announcement of the practice.

There you will usually also find up-to-date information on the pharmacy emergency service, which is available 24 hours a day.
