As an employer, have you granted your employees time off for training? Then you can apply for reimbursement of costs.

If you as an employer grant your employees time off for training purposes, you can have the costs reimbursed.

The legal entitlement to training leave for your employee is ten working days within two consecutive calendar years for a 5-day working week If the working week is regularly longer or shorter, the entitlement changes accordingly.

Trainees are entitled to five days of training leave per training year to take part in socio-political training events.

  • the current employment relationship has existed for at least six months
  • there are no urgent operational reasons to the contrary.
  • It is a recognized vocational or socio-political training event in accordance with the Rhineland-Palatinate Education and Training Leave Act.

Verfahrensablauf

  • Your employee has registered for further training at a recognized training event and has submitted a written claim for training leave to you 6 weeks before the start of the event
  • You submit the application for reimbursement to the responsible office at least 4 weeks before the start of the event
  • You will then receive a preliminary notification
  • After the employee has attended the training event, you submit their confirmation of attendance to the relevant office
  • You will then receive a final decision on the reimbursement of costs from the responsible office.

Hinweise

There is no entitlement to time off if you as an employer do not normally employ more than five people on a permanent basis.

Employers with fewer than 50 employees can apply to the state for a flat-rate reimbursement of the salary to be continued during training leave.
