The intended sale of pyrotechnic articles of categories F1 and F2 must be notified to the competent authority at least 14 days before the start of the activity. If pyrotechnic articles are sold on an annually recurring basis, a single notification is sufficient.
A new notification is required if changes have occurred since the initial notification (e.g. change of address, changes in the responsible persons) or if the sale is discontinued.
For each sales facility, a sufficient number of responsible persons must be appointed to act as supervisors for the sale and/or storage. These persons must be appointed by internal organization.
You must provide details of the management of the outlet/branch and the person responsible.
The notification must be made two weeks before the start of the activity.
Small quantities of pyrotechnic articles in categories F1 and F2 may be stored without a permit. If you wish to store quantities in excess of this, you require a permit in accordance with Section 17 of the Explosives Act.
If you do not submit the notification required under Section 14 of the Explosives Act, or do not submit it correctly, completely or on time, this may be punished as an administrative offense with a fine.
Forms can be obtained from the responsible administrative offices of the districts and independent cities.
