The land register provides information about the ownership structure of a property. It also contains information on encumbrances such as land charges and mortgages.
The following processes, among others, must therefore be entered in the land register:
- Change of owner
- Reservations
- Creation and cancellation of a mortgage
- Creation and cancellation of land charges
The legal acquisition of ownership of a property also requires the entry of the new owner in the land register.

Special land register sheets labelled "Berggrundbuch" are kept for mine property - responsible for the whole of Saxony:
- Identity card or passport
- Proof of registration documents: public or publicly notarised documents
As a rule, registration requires
- an application,
- an authorisation for registration,
- the prior registration of the person whose right is affected by the registration
- and compliance with special formal requirements.
In special cases, such as the conveyance of a property, additional requirements apply.
In individual cases, consult a notary or a lawyer who will give you advice on the procedure and the documents you need to obtain, tailored to your situation.
- Decision of the judicial officer: unrestricted and unlimited appeal in accordance with Section 11 Para. 1 RpflG in conjunction with Section 71 Para. 1 GBO (with the possibility for the judicial officer to appeal, see Section 75 GBO)
- Decision of the clerk: unlimited and indefinite reminder pursuant to Section 12 c (4) GBO (with the possibility of remedy by the clerk, see Section 12 c (4) sentence 1 GBO)
- Decision of the land register judge: unrestricted and unlimited appeal in accordance with Section 71 Para. 1 GBO (with the possibility for the land register judge to appeal, see Section 75 GBO.
