In a regional spatial development plan or regional plan, the responsible planning authority determines how the limited resource of space is to be used in a particular region.
As a citizen, company or public body, you can participate in the preparation or amendment of a regional plan from the time of publication. Your participation gives you the opportunity to contribute to the planning process. You can also inspect the regional plan in public and submit comments. You have at least one month from the date of publication to do so.
The regional plan can cover various possible uses of the area, such as
- Residential,
- commercial,
- transportation,
- infrastructure,
- recreation and
- nature and the environment.
The regional plan generally consists of

- You can submit comments on the planned or amended regional plan from the date of publication. This should be done electronically.
- The responsible authority collects and reviews the comments. It then weighs up the comments and decides on them.
- The competent authority takes other private and public interests into account. It publishes the result of the consideration.
At least one month from the start of publication of the spatial development plan on the Internet. The deadline applies to the public as well as to authorities and other public bodies.
