The class T driver's license, colloquially known as the "large tractor driver's license," allows you to drive more powerful vehicles in agriculture and forestry.
You can extend your driving license by the independent driving license class T.
With the class T driver's license, colloquially known as the "large tractor driver's license", you may drive the following vehicles with trailers:
- tractors intended and used for agricultural or forestry purposes with a maximum design speed of 60 km/h (from 16 to 18 years: 40 km/h)
- self-propelled machines and fodder mixers intended and used for these purposes with a maximum constructional speed of 40 km/h.
Driving license class T is issued for an unlimited period of time.
Driving license class T is a national class. It is only conditionally valid in other countries.
- valid identity card or passport (if necessary with current certificate of residence)
- Application for the extension of the driving license
- a biometric photo according to the passport regulation (size 45x35 mm)
- eye test certificate (not older than two years)
- proof of training in first aid (if not already proven to the driving license authority)
- valid driver's license
- if necessary, a copy of the card from the last issuing authority (if different)

- You must have your normal place of residence in the Federal Republic of Germany.
- You must be at least 16 years old.
The fee is based on the Fee Regulations for Road Traffic Measures (GebOSt). If the driver's license is sent directly to the home address, an additional shipping fee will be charged.
Your application for a driver's license extension will expire if you have not passed the theory test within 12 months of receiving the test order, or if you have not passed the practical test within 12 months of passing the theory test.
