If you wish to use plant protection products for others or advise others on the use of plant protection products, you must notify the competent authority.

Companies and anyone who uses crop protection products in their work must handle them responsibly. If you use plant protection products, you must report this.

If your company headquarters or the areas you treat or the location where you provide advice are in another federal state, you must also report this there.

As a farm manager, you must provide the following information:

• Surname and first name
• Address or the name and address of your company

If several competent persons in your company apply plant protection products for other companies or provide advice, you must state the names and addresses of all these persons.

You must also enclose copies of the certificates of competence for the use of plant protection products or advice on plant protection for all the competent persons named in the notification.

You must inform the competent authority immediately of any changes to the group of persons and those affecting the company details as well as the closure of the company.

• Completed notification form
• Proof of the required plant protection expertise of the persons on the farm who

  • advise on the use of plant protection products

To ensure that you comply with your reporting obligation in good time, you must

• complete the relevant application form and send it to the competent authority before starting your activities.
• enclose with the application form copies of the required plant protection certificates of the persons on the farm who
  • apply plant protection products for others or
  • advise on the use of plant protection products.

Only the certificate of competence in credit card format is valid as a certificate of competence.

If you do not comply with your reporting obligation or do not do so in good time, you are acting in breach of the regulations.
Persons who carry out an activity requiring expert knowledge in plant protection and have a certificate of competence in plant protection are obliged to take part in a recognized advanced training course at least once within 3 years.

• Use of plant protection products for others or advice on plant protection requires notification to the competent authority before commencing activities
• An administrative offense is committed if notification is not made or not made in time
• Notification may be necessary in several federal states
• Naming of all competent persons of the company
• Copies of the certificates of competence for all competent persons named in the notification
