Would you like to apply for a place at a technical secondary school in the city of Bremerhaven?

The 1-year and 2-year Fachoberschule courses lead to the Fachhochschulreife, the 1-year Fachoberschule course in grade 13 leads to the Fachgebundene Hochschulreife and, with proof of the 2nd foreign language, to the Allgemeine Hochschulreife.

2-year Fachoberschule, grades 11 and 12:

The 2-year Fachoberschule can be attended directly after completing general schooling. In the first year, lessons are accompanied by practical training in a company, in an institution or at school and teach practical knowledge and skills. Instruction in the 2nd year is full-time.

1-year technical secondary school, grade 12:

Admission requirements for entry to the 1-year Fachoberschule are the Mittlerer Schulabschluss and at least 2 years of completed vocational training relevant to the subject area or proof of relevant professional experience of at least 5 years. Instruction takes place full-time.

Technical secondary school, grade 13:

A grade 13 is set up for particularly qualified graduates of the 2-year Fachoberschule. It leads to the subject-restricted higher education entrance qualification and, with proof of the necessary knowledge of a second foreign language, to the general higher education entrance qualification. Instruction takes place on a full-time basis.

• Evidence in accordance with the applicable admission requirements

2-year technical secondary school, grades 11 and 12:

• the intermediate school leaving certificate

• • with an average grade of at least 3.3 in the subjects German, English and mathematics

or

• • from a school with subject differentiation in the subjects German, English and mathematics, with a minimum grade of "sufficient" in each subject at the extended level of requirements and a minimum grade of "satisfactory" in each subject at the basic level of requirements

and

• submission of a contract for a suitable internship if the practical training takes place outside of school

and

• participation in an internal school counseling interview.

1-year technical secondary school, grade 12:

• the intermediate school leaving certificate,
• proof of having completed at least 2 years of vocational training in a relevant field

• • at least 2 years of vocational training in a recognized or equivalent training occupation in accordance with the Vocational Training Act or the Crafts Code or in a corresponding training occupation in public administration (the final certificate from the vocational school must also be enclosed)

or

• • corresponding training in a civil servant position

or

• • Vocational training in accordance with state law with a state final examination,

• participation in an internal school counseling interview.

Vocational training can be replaced by relevant professional experience of at least 5 years in a recognized or equivalent training occupation under the Vocational Training Act or Crafts Code or in a corresponding training occupation in public administration or in an occupation regulated by state law.

1-year Fachoberschule, grade 13:

Certificate of completion of the 2-year Fachoberschule (Fachhochschulreife) with an average grade of at least 2.5. None of the subjects German, Mathematics and English may show a grade of "unsatisfactory".

• Fill out the admission form and submit the completed admission form together with the necessary documents to the desired school in accordance with the school requirements.
• Once you have been selected by the school, you will receive notification of your acceptance or rejection.
