Do you have the right to use a grave and want to give it up again?

The right of use for unoccupied gravesites can be returned at any time, for partially occupied gravesites only after expiry of the resting period by submitting a declaration of renunciation. A redemption is only possible for the entire gravesite.

The premature return of an occupied gravesite is possible upon written application by the entitled person(s) with the consent of the cemetery administration at the earliest 10 years before the expiry of the resting period.

For gravesites returned prematurely, the person entitled to use them will be charged the maintenance fees until the end of the resting period in accordance with the cemetery fee statutes. The return only becomes effective once the fees due have been paid.

• An existing right to use the grave.

Once the application has been successfully reviewed, it will be withdrawn on January 1 of the following year.
