In cases of persistent difficulties in reading and spelling that are resistant to change despite early support, the secondary levels are required to continue to provide appropriate support within the framework of a support concept and, in exceptional cases, to grant compensation for disadvantages and grade protection.
The granting of grade protection is possible in upper secondary level if this is requested 12 weeks before the start of the grade by the legal guardian or the adult student. It is only possible in the grade level from which the first achievements are included in the final grade of the respective educational program. In addition, a current diagnosis from the Regional Counseling and Support Center (ReBUZ) must be available.
For courses leading to the general higher education entrance qualification, this means that the application must be submitted no later than 12 weeks before the start of the qualification phase with a corresponding report from the ReBUZ.
The granting of grade protection is shown on the certificate.
