Here you will find information on the recognition of the equivalence of a school-leaving qualification obtained in another federal state.

According to the resolution of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder, the degrees and qualifications of the Länder are mutually recognized. The responsibility for determining equivalence depends on the type of degree and the federal state in which the training took place.

Please note that only the existing school-leaving qualification is recognized, i.e. there is no examination of the content with regard to subsequent additional qualifications and entitlements.

• Certificate of graduation or officially certified copy of the certificate of graduation
• Proof of identity

Certificate of equivalence not usually required due to mutual recognition of degrees by KMK.

In case of need, certificate of equivalence after verification upon presentation of complete documents.
