Restaurateurs need a building permit if they want to operate an outdoor seating area in front of their restaurant, as well as a special use permit if they use public land in the process.
For the municipality of Bremen:
Fee for building permit (minimum fee 130,00 €)
Fee for special use 390,00 € one-time fee
Fee for special use depending on location and size of area
The fees are derived from the cost regulations for special use in accordance with the Bremen State Road Act in the municipality of Bremen (special use cost regulations).
For the city of Bremerhaven:
Fee for building permit (minimum fee 130,00 €)
Fee for special use depending on the location and size of the area (2.50 € per m² per month).
The fees are derived from the fee schedule for special use in accordance with the Bremen State Road Act in the city of Bremerhaven (special use fee schedule).
- Application via the form.
- Once the documents have been received, they are checked for completeness and additional documents are requested if necessary.
- Public bodies to be involved will be consulted during the procedure.
- Depending on the application, applicants may also be consulted.
- Issuance of the revocable building permit for the restaurant and special use permit with any conditions.
After receipt of the complete and verifiable application documents approx. 8 weeks (participation of various technical authorities).
