If you want to open or take over a branch pharmacy, you must submit a written application for an operating permit.
In the documents to be submitted, you provide evidence of your qualifications, that you have suitable operating premises and affirm under oath that you comply with certain legal requirements.

For more details on the type and scope of the documents, please refer to the leaflet on the application for a pharmacy operating license under "Further information".
Permission shall be granted upon application if you meet all the requirements under Section 2 of the Pharmacy Act.
Please note that the issuance of the permit is subject to a fee in accordance with Section 500.01 of the current Bremen Health Cost Ordinance. Any necessary monitoring measures will be charged separately in accordance with item 500.08.
- Submission of the documents as scans or originals, as well as the submission of the necessary original documents (e.g. lease agreement, purchase agreement).
- Examination of the documents.
- Issuance of the pharmacy operating license, provided that all requirements are met.
After complete submission of all necessary documents usually 4-6 weeks. In case of need for clarification, the processing time may be longer.
Please submit your completed application at least 6 weeks prior to the scheduled opening date.
