The Traffic Monitoring Department regularly auctions off vehicles without registration.

If the owner is no longer interested in his or her vehicle, the municipality acquires ownership after 6 weeks. Vehicles considered lost property are either disposed of or released for auction.

Items acquired at the auction belong definitively to the purchaser.

Possible ownership rights to vehicles can only be asserted before the auction; it is no longer possible to declare ownership during the auction.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to pay by EC card at the auction. Auctioned vehicles will only be handed over in exchange for cash and must be taken away immediately.

• No one has claimed ownership within 6 weeks
• Auctioned items will only be handed over against cash. No further fees will be charged.

After the successful auction of a vehicle, you are obliged to take the vehicle with you immediately.

Approximately one week after the auction, you will receive an auction report with which you can apply for the registration papers and order duplicate keys.
