Abschleppen nicht zugelassener Fahrzeuge

If a vehicle is parked on public ground without registration, it will be towed away.

An unregistered vehicle has no right to participate in traffic. This applies to both stationary and moving traffic. For this reason, towing measures for such vehicles can be initiated in the Hanseatic City of Bremen by decree since 1 July 2018.

• Identity card or passport
• Driving licence
• Vehicle registration document or vehicle title

  or certificate of registration Part I or Part II

• Purchase contract (if available)

Unauthorised vehicle in public places

The traffic surveillance staff will try to find the owner by means of the chassis number or the registration plates.

When you pick up your car, you will receive a cost assessment notice.

If no one reports for the collection of the vehicle after 6 weeks, the vehicles will be sold or auctioned.

To pick up your vehicle from our contractual partner, you will need proof of ownership. This can be for example:

• Registration certificate part 1 (formerly vehicle registration document) or
• Registration certificate part 2 (formerly vehicle registration document)

An existing second key is not sufficient.

In addition, the following documents should also be carried:

• identity card or passport
• Driving licence
• Purchase contract (if available)
