The lost property office regularly auctions off lost property.

The following applies to all lost property:

If neither the owner nor the finder is interested in the lost property, the municipality acquires ownership after 6 months and the lost property is put up for auction.

Items acquired at auction belong to the acquirer permanently.

If possible ownership rights to the item are asserted during an auction, the lost property will be removed from the auction for clarification of ownership. After proof of ownership has been provided, the item will be returned to the owner.

Auctions at the lost and found office are announced at www.bremerhaven.de and in the daily press.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to pay by EC card at an auction. Auctioned items will only be handed over against cash.
