If you need proof that you are registered in your current home, you can apply for a registration certificate for a fee.

Volltext

As a rule, the registration certificate only contains information about yourself.

The registration certificate contains

  • personal data (surname, first names, last name, doctor's degree, date of birth)
  • Current addresses (marked according to main residence and secondary residence)

You can also request additional information:

  • further personal data (religious name, stage name, former names, place of birth, gender)
  • Nationality(ies), religious affiliation or marital status
  • Current address with move-in date, previous residences with move-in and move-out dates in the area of responsibility of the registration authority
  • Details of legal representatives / spouses / life partners / minor children
  • Data on the German ID document (e.g. serial number or eID card)

Erforderliche Unterlagen

  • Identity card or passport
  • For representation by authorized persons:
    • Identity card or passport of the authorized person.
    • Identity card or passport of the person granting power of attorney (copy possible)

Voraussetzungen

  • You are registered as a resident of Bremerhaven.
  • If you apply in person at the citizens' offices:
    • You must appear in person.
    • However, you can be represented by an authorized person.
  • Adult children: Parents require a power of attorney from adult family members in order to receive the registration confirmation.

Kosten

Registration certificates from the microfilmed card index in simple and particularly difficult cases cost between 27 and 55 euros per resident.

Verfahrensablauf

You can apply for a registration certificate online, in writing or in person at one of the citizens' offices:

Online:

  • Use the online service. You will find the link under "Forms".
  • The online service will guide you conveniently through the application process.
  • You will receive the registration certificate by post to your registration address.

In writing (by post, by e-mail):

  • Apply for a registration certificate informally in writing at one of the citizens' offices.
  • You will receive the registration certificate by post to your registration address.

In person at one of the citizens' offices:

  • You can also have a registration certificate issued in person at one of the citizens' offices during opening hours. You do not need an appointment for this.
  • Please bring the required documents with you.
  • You can also be represented by an authorized person.
  • The authorized person will need
    • at least a copy of the identity card of the person granting power of attorney
    • an informal power of attorney signed by the principal
    • and their own identity card or passport (original)
  • You will be issued with the registration certificate on site.

Bearbeitungsdauer

If you apply in person, you will receive the certificate immediately. If you apply in writing or online, it can take up to two weeks to receive a response.

Hinweise

  • Parents (or one parent) do not need a power of attorney to apply if the child is still a minor, as the child's registration data is then linked to that of the parents (standard case).
  • If the child is an adult, there is no longer a link between the registration data and the parents require written authorization from the child.
  • A minor child aged 16 or over can apply for a registration certificate independently by presenting their ID card.
