Merkzeichen TBl (taubblind)

From 01.01.2017 there is a new marker. It carries the designation deafblind (TBl).

TBl is someone who usually has the markings "BL" and "GL".

• Severely disabled pass with front and back!

TBI - if the severely disabled person has a degree of disability of at least 70 due to a hearing impairment and 100 due to a visual impairment.

The marker can be applied for - like all other markers.

The new regulation that the mark "TBl" for "deaf-blind" must be entered in the severely disabled person's pass is based on demands by the associations of disabled people to create a separate mark for people affected by this extraordinarily severe disability of its own kind. The impairments of participation of the group of persons covered by the marker are extremely varied, so that uniform concrete needs cannot be determined. For this reason, the marker is not linked to any concrete compensation for disadvantages under federal law. It can be used as evidence for the exemption from broadcasting fees according to the Interstate Broadcasting Treaty, provided that the states exclusively responsible for broadcasting determine this. The marker does not automatically include disadvantage compensation for blind and deaf people, such as state blind money, state deaf money or tax disadvantage compensation. For this reason, the markers "Bl" (blind) and "GL" (deaf) are entered in the severely disabled person's pass in addition to the marker "TBl" if the respective requirements are met.
