If you wish to collect or transport waste or trade in waste, you must report the activity to the competent authority.

As a collector, transporter, trader and broker of waste, you must report this activity to the competent authority. If you carry out this activity with hazardous waste and are exempt from the permit requirement, you must enclose additional documents with your notification. If you have already reported your activity and your details have changed significantly, you must submit the notification again. The obligation to notify applies to both national and cross-border waste shipments.

• The requirements of those obliged to notify or obtain a permit as well as the requirements for other personnel with specialist and expert knowledge, which are specified in the Ordinance on the Notification and Permit Procedure for Collectors, Carriers, Traders and Brokers of Waste (Notification and Permit Ordinance - AbfAEV), must be met.
• In addition, any verification and register obligations for hazardous waste must be observed.

• If you wish to take up an activity as a collector, carrier, trader or broker of waste for the first time or change essential details of your activity, please notify the competent authority.

If you wish to transport, collect, trade or broker hazardous waste, a permit in accordance with § 54 Collectors, carriers, traders and brokers of hazardous waste KrWG is required.
