The certification confirms that the content of the copy is identical to the original document. However, the certification does not certify the authenticity or validity of the original.

Each authority can officially certify copies of documents which it has issued itself or which are for its own use.

In addition, we are authorized to certify official copies of documents issued by a German authority or whose copy is intended for submission to a German authority.

This does not apply if the issuance of certified copies is reserved exclusively for other authorities.

These are in particular for

• Extracts from the register of associations - > the local court / register of associations
• Extracts from the land register - > the land registry office
• Civil status documents issued in Bremerhaven - > the registry office
• Civil status documents issued in Germany - > the relevant registry office at the place of issue.
  
  Official certification of documents that are to be used privately is not possible. In this case, only certification by a notary public is possible.

• Presentation of the original document
• Copies brought in must reproduce the entire original document
• A multi-page document must not be copied on both sides

• Certification of certificates can also be carried out at the issuing school.
• Documents under private law or for private use can be notarized at any notary public.
• The certification of foreign documents is carried out by the respective foreign representations.
