The certification confirms that the content of the copy is identical to the original document. However, the certification does not certify the authenticity or validity of the original.

Notarization of these documents is for a specific purpose. In case of doubt, it will be checked whether a certification may be made according to the relevant regulations.

The following documents may be certified for the purpose of presentation to German offices or authorities:

Important: This is a service under municipal jurisdiction. Therefore, you can only visit a service that is located in your place of residence.

• Certification of certificates can also be carried out at the issuing school.
• Documents under private law or for private use can be notarized at any notary public.
• The certification of foreign documents is carried out by the respective foreign representations.
