You have become self-employed? In order to familiarize you with the tax requirements of your entrepreneurial self-employment, we offer you a consulting service by the business start-up consultants of the tax offices:

These experts from the tax offices therefore help the start-ups, for example, to fill in forms, provide them with information and advise them on general tax issues.

The aim is to remove any "stumbling blocks" or "fear of contact" when dealing with the tax office and to accompany the young companies during their start-up phase, i.e. for about six months.

Taking up a self-employed activity, but not an employee relationship

Consultation in Bremen is currently only possible in Bremen Stadtmitte.

You submit the tax registration questionnaire electronically to the Bremen tax office or the Bremerhaven tax office. The questionnaire for tax registration can be downloaded from the free portal of the tax authorities "Mein Elster" at

can be submitted. If you do not yet have an Elster certificate, you can create a temporary certificate within minutes on the specified website for submitting the questionnaire. To do this, please click on Create user account and follow the further steps.

Alternatively, you can also get personal advice at the Bremen or Bremerhaven tax office by making an appointment in advance.
