If you have insufficient or no health insurance and you cannot reasonably be expected to pay for independent health care, you may qualify for "health aids."

Health assistance includes various individual services, including

• preventive health assistance,
• Help with illness,
• Help for family planning,
• assistance with pregnancy and maternity and
• Help with sterilization.

The above-mentioned assistance is provided to the extent of the benefits of the statutory health insurance.

• There is no statutory or sufficient private health insurance.
• It is not reasonable to raise the funds for the necessary assistance from income and assets.

The required documents are discussed and submitted individually in each case. For example

• an insurance history from the pension provider and the health insurance fund,
• proof of the extent of private health insurance,
• valid personal documents,
• a certificate of residence,
• proof of income,
• a rental contract,
• a letter of change of tenancy,
• proof of assets (for example, life insurance, building society insurance, Riester pension contracts, death insurance, etc.),
• information on savings accounts,
• real estate,
• real estate,
• valuables,
• motor vehicles and
• bank statements

are required.
