Feinstaubplakette beantragen

Since March 1, 2007, local authorities have been able to set up environmental zones. Only those vehicles that have one of the "fine dust stickers" on the windshield (or have an exemption permit) shown on the entry sign are then allowed to enter.

Low-emission vehicles can receive a so-called fine dust sticker.

You can obtain this from all registration authorities, technical monitoring organisations and all workshops that are authorised to carry out an emissions test.

Exceptions
The website of the Senator for the Environment, Construction, Transportation and Europe provides information on exceptions to the sticker requirement.

The stickers in the colours red, yellow and green each correspond to one pollutant group:

• Green sticker = pollutant group 4:
  Vehicles with the lowest particle or pollutant emission, such as vehicles with the latest diesel technology and all vehicles with petrol engines that have a regulated catalytic converter. Also vehicles that are not powered by an internal combustion engine (e.g. electric vehicles, fuel cell vehicles).
• Yellow sticker = pollutant group 3:
  Diesel passenger cars with the emission key numbers (ESN) 30, 31, 36, 37, 42, 44 to 52, 72 and diesel commercial vehicles with ESN 34, 44, 54, 70, 71
• red sticker = pollutant group 2:
  Diesel passenger cars with the emission key numbers (ESN) 25 to 29, 35, 41, 71 and diesel commercial vehicles with ESN 20, 21, 22, 33, 43, 53, 60, 61
• No sticker = pollutant group 1:
  Vehicles with a worse classification cannot be assigned a sticker at all.

• Registration certificate part I or vehicle registration document

The emission class keys of the vehicles according to No. 1 of the old vehicle registration certificate or No. 14.1 of the new registration certificate Part I (ZBI) are decisive for the issue of the stickers.

If the vehicle has been retrofitted with a particle reduction system, a modification ZBI is required.

Presentation of the vehicle registration document or the CTI to the registration authority. A representative may be appointed without special authorisation.

Which sticker the vehicle receives can be determined free of charge on the websites of the technical inspection authorities.
