§ 7 Adoption Effects Act (AdWirkG) https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/adwirkg/__7.html
The certificate of an arranged international adoption procedure can be extended by 1 year upon request.
The foreign placement agency issues a certificate to the adoptive parents confirming that the placement has taken place if a child was adopted from a non-member state of the Hague Adoption Convention.
This certificate can be used to prove the adoption in official procedures related to the adopted child.
The certificate is valid for two years and expires as soon as the family court has made a decision on the recognition of the foreign adoption. If the procedure cannot be completed within two years, the certificate can be extended by one year upon request.
Please note: This certificate is not issued for adoptions arranged from a member state of the Hague Adoption Convention. Instead, the child's country of origin issues an Article 23 Hague Adoption Convention certificate.
A successful international adoption procedure was carried out and a child from a non-member state of the Hague Adoption Convention was placed. Recognition of the adoption was requested in the family court and a § 2d certificate was issued by the foreign placement agency.
