If you, as a person in a healthcare profession, would like to gain access to the telematics infrastructure (TI) in the healthcare system, you need an electronic health professional card (eHBA).
The electronic health professional card (eHBA) is a chip card for the personal authentication of people in health professions. The electronic health professional card (eHBA) gives you access to the telematics infrastructure (TI). The telematics infrastructure (TI) connects everyone involved in the health system and thus enables, for example, access to the electronic patient file (ePA).
There are various electronic health professional cards (eHBA) for different professional groups. With this online service, you can apply for an electronic health professional card (eHBA) as a non-licensed person in a health profession. These include:
- Healthcare workers
- Nurses
- Geriatric nurses
- Midwives
- Physiotherapists
- Emergency paramedic
- Scan or photo of your professional qualification (professional license certificate)
- if applicable: proof of name change (e.g. marriage certificate)
- You access the specialist portal of the electronic health professions register (eGBR) and fill out the online application
- Once we receive your application, your professional qualifications will be checked.
- After the test is completed, you will receive an email with the test results and your case number.
- Using the transaction number, you can order your electronic health professional card (eHBA) as a chip card from a trusted service provider (VDA) of your choice for a fee.
