Do you want to set up and operate an operating area in accordance with the Major Accident Ordinance? Then you must notify the responsible authority.

If you wish to set up and operate an operating area in accordance with the Major Accident Ordinance, you must notify the responsible authority.
Your ad must contain certain information.
If you have already submitted this information to the competent authority as part of an authorisation or notification procedure, you do not have to separately notify the construction of the operating area relevant to the incident.

• Complete notification with the required information
  • Name or company of the operator and full address of the relevant operating area
  • Registered office and full address of the operator
  • Name and function of the person responsible for the operating area, if this person is not the operator
  • sufficient information to identify the dangerous substances and the hazard category of substances
  • Quantity and physical form of dangerous substances
  • Activity or intended activity in the facilities of the operating area
    • Conditions in the immediate vicinity of the operating area that may cause an incident or aggravate its consequences. If available, information on
    • neighbouring operating areas
    • other establishments not covered by this Regulation
    • Areas and developments:
      • from which an incident could occur
      • where the probability of an incident occurring may increase
      • where the impact of an incident and domino effects can worsen

You would like to set up and operate an operating area in accordance with the Major Accident Ordinance.

• You submit the complete notification in writing to the authority responsible for you.
• The responsible authority will examine your report.
• If necessary, the responsible authority will request further documents or information from you.
• If an administrative offence has been committed, the competent authority decides whether to initiate administrative offence proceedings.

There is no statutory processing time.

You must submit the notification to the competent authority at least one month before the start of construction of the operating area.

You are committing an administrative offence if you do not report the start of the construction of an operating area in accordance with the Major Accident Ordinance, or if you do not report it correctly, completely, in the prescribed manner or on time.

This is a complaint filed by you. No legal remedy is provided.

• Indicate in advance the construction of an operating area relevant to an incident
• Notification is required if a new operating area is to be established in accordance with the Major Accident Ordinance
• Notification must be submitted one month before construction begins
• Extensive information on operating area and environment required
• Notification is not required if the information was submitted as part of an approval or notification procedure
