If you, as a shooting sports club, want to purchase and own weapons or ammunition, you must apply for a permit from the responsible weapons authority.
If you want to purchase firearms that require a permit for a shooting club, you can request that the required firearm ownership card be issued to the club rather than to you personally.
- Identity card or passport (copy)
- Extract from the register of associations
- Proof of expertise (responsible person)
- Proof of storage, for example a purchase contract for a gun safe or photos of the gun safe and its location
- if under 25 years of age: medical or psychological certificate confirming the mental suitability of the responsible person
- The club must be a member of a recognized shooting sports association and be registered in the association register.
- You must appoint a responsible person:
- Adult
- No criminal record (reliability)
- No incapacity, mental illness or drug addiction (personal suitability)
- Knowledge of firearms regulations
- safe handling of weapons and ammunition
- Skills in shooting firearms (may not be required if only collecting weapons that cannot fire)
- Safe storage must be guaranteed
There is an administration fee. The amount of the fee depends on the type and scope of your application.
- You submit the application together with the required documents.
- The responsible authority will examine your application.
- The competent authority will grant you permission if you meet the necessary requirements.
If the responsible person leaves the association, you must immediately inform the responsible authority and appoint a new responsible person within 2 weeks.
- Apply for a gun license for a shooting club
- Purchase of firearms requiring a permit for shooting sports clubs possible.
- Application for issuing a firearms license to the club instead of to the individual.
No personal issuance of the firearm ownership license is required.
