The Hamburg Service will issue you with a registration certificate upon request. In addition to the basic data, this can also contain other data.
You can apply for a registration certificate if you need one. This is the case, for example, if you need proof of how long a person has been registered, whether they are still alive or for other information.
You need a registration certificate with information on your marital status to register your marriage at the registry office, or to apply for naturalization at the Office for Migration.
If you need a residence and/or unmarried certificate, it is also a registration certificate, but with additional information.
