Would you like to work in Germany as a medical-technical assistant for functional diagnostics or as a medical-technical assistant for functional diagnostics? Then you need a state permit. You can have your foreign professional qualification recognised.
In order to be allowed to work as an assistant for medical-technical functional diagnostics in Germany, you need a professional permit. For this, the equivalence of your foreign training with the German training is checked. If equivalence is established, you can get a professional permit if the requirements are met. If equivalence is not established, you must first complete an adaptation measure (aptitude test/adaptation course) before you can receive a professional permit.
On January 1, 2023, the training for professions in medical technology was reformed in Germany. The new law on professions in medical technology applies. The profession on this basis is called medical technologist for functional diagnostics or medical technologist for functional diagnostics. Applications for this profession in Hamburg have been decided on according to the new law since January 1, 2023; the transition period provided for by law will not be used.

- Health suitability: You can work mentally and physically as a medical-technical assistant for functional diagnostics or medical-technical assistant for functional diagnostics.
- You have German language skills at the required language level. This is usually language level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
