The services of integration assistance are intended to enable people with disabilities to participate comprehensively in all areas of social life.
The services of the integration assistance are divided into 4 service groups:

- When applying for integration assistance in a special form of housing (formerly: inpatient facility), it may be necessary to apply for basic security. (see links)

You can receive integration assistance if
- you have a disability or
- You are threatened by a disability and
- As a result, you are significantly restricted in your daily life.
You can apply for integration assistance from the institution responsible for you.
- You should contact the integration assistance provider responsible for you.
- You will be advised there or you can submit an informal application straight away.
- The competent authority may ask you to fill out a form and submit additional documents.
- The authority carries out a participation procedure, an overall plan procedure or both procedures in order to determine your individual need for integration assistance services and possible other participation services. You can request that someone you trust be involved in the overall plan process.
- When all the documents are available, the competent authority will check whether and which benefits you will receive based on your information and the assessment of your needs. This also includes checking whether and to what extent your income and assets are taken into account.
- After your application has been reviewed, you will receive a notification.
The processing time of your application depends on various factors. Please contact your responsible institution for integration assistance, which can provide you with more detailed information on the duration of the process.
However, the authority to which you submitted your application must determine within 2 weeks of receipt of the application whether it is responsible for your application. If the authority is not responsible, it will immediately forward your application to the responsible body. You will be informed of the forwarding.
If the authority does not pass on your application, it must determine and provide your need for support as quickly as possible.
If an expert opinion is necessary to determine your needs, the authority must make a decision within 2 weeks as soon as the expert opinion is available to the authority.
If the authority does not have to obtain an expert opinion, it will make a decision within 3 weeks after your application has been received.

Objections can be raised against the decisions of the competent integration assistance provider within one month of notification.
After the objection procedure has been completed by means of an objection notice, a complaint can be filed with the competent social court within one month of notification.
