Commission Regulation (EU) No. 142/2011 of 25 February 2011 implementing Regulation (EC) No. 1069/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down hygiene rules for animal by-products not intended for human consumption and implementing the Directive 97/78/EC as regards certain samples and goods exempted from veterinary checks at the border under that Directive

Companies that want to store animal by-products or certain derived products must be approved for this activity by the competent authority.
According to Article 24 letter i) of Regulation (EC) No. 1069/2009, the storage of animal by-products is subject to authorization. Likewise, according to Article 24 letter j) of Regulation (EC) No. 1069/2009, the storage of certain derived products is subject to authorization. Approval must be applied for from the competent authority before the start of the activity.
