You must report the inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of X-ray equipment and stray radiation sources to the responsible authority.
As the person responsible for radiation protection, you must notify the responsible authority if you check, test, maintain or repair X-ray equipment or stray radiation sources in the course of your business.
- Written appointment of the radiation protection officer by the radiation protection officer, specifying the internal decision-making area.
- Proof of expertise (and updating if necessary) in radiation protection for the radiation protection officer.
- Proof of expertise (and updating if necessary) in radiation protection for the radiation protection officer if no radiation protection officer is required.
- Evidence of necessary equipment and radiation protection measures taken that are required according to the state of the art.
- You have the written appointment of the radiation protection officer by the person responsible for radiation protection, specifying the radiation protection officer's internal decision-making area.
- You have proof of the expertise of the radiation protection officer or the person responsible for radiation protection in radiation protection by submitting a certificate of expertise (expertise group R5.1 / R5.2 or R6.1 / R6.2).
- They have the necessary equipment and have taken the measures required by the state of the art to ensure that the protective regulations are complied with.
- There are no facts that give rise to concerns about the reliability of the person obliged to make the report.
- There are no facts that give rise to concerns about the safe performance of the activities due to a lack of necessary personnel.
Fees apply. The amount of the fees depends on the administrative effort and is calculated according to the fee schedule
- You fill out the relevant notification form completely and send it, together with the required documents, to the responsible authority.
- The responsible authority will examine your notification and your documents.
- If necessary, the responsible authority will request further documents or information from you.
- If the requirements for the advertisement are met, you will receive a confirmation of the advertisement.
- The fee notice will usually be sent to you separately.
- Once you have received confirmation of the notification, you are permitted to operate the X-ray device.
- If you have not received any notification to the contrary from the responsible authority within 4 weeks of your notification, you can also put the X-ray device into operation.
Submit the notification to the responsible authority at least 4 weeks before you start the activities.
The operation of X-ray equipment or stray radiation sources for the purpose of inspection, testing, maintenance and repair without the required display is prohibited.
