If you want to use the professional title "Masseuse and Medical Bath Attendant" or "Masseur and Medical Bath Attendant", you need a permit.

The profession of masseuse and medical bath attendant or masseur and medical bath attendant is regulated in Germany.

This means that in order to work as a masseuse and medical bath attendant or masseur and medical bath attendant in Germany, you must apply for a state permit. With this permit, you can use the job title "masseuse and medical bath attendant" or "masseur and medical bath attendant" and work in this profession.

• State examination certificate or notice of equivalence of the foreign professional qualification
  • Since the facility must be authorized to accept interns by the local authority in accordance with the massage therapist and physiotherapist law, a copy of the authorization notice (available to the facility) must be enclosed. Alternatively, the responsible authority as well as the file number and date of the aforementioned notice can be noted on the internship certificate.
• Proof of reliability: confirmation that you have not been guilty of any conduct that would make you unreliable to exercise your profession (for example, by submitting an official certificate of good conduct that is no more than 3 months old)
• Medical certificate stating that you are suitable to perform the profession
• Confirmation that you have the knowledge of the German language required to perform your professional activity

• You have completed the required vocational or university training and passed the state final examination.
• You have the necessary reliability to practice the profession.
• You are medically fit to perform the profession.
• You have the knowledge of the German language required to practice the profession.

• You apply for permission from the responsible authority and submit the necessary documents.
• The responsible authority will check whether you meet all the requirements.
• If you meet all the requirements, you will receive permission.
• You may not begin the activity until you have received permission.
