You have met the requirements for acquiring the necessary expertise in radiation protection and would like to have a certificate for this.
The following groups must have specialist knowledge in accordance with Section 47 of the Radiation Protection Ordinance:
- competent radiation protection officers
- Radiation Protection Officer
- medical physics experts
- Physicians and dentists who apply ionizing radiation or radioactive substances to humans in accordance with Section 144 (1) of the Radiation Protection Ordinance
- Doctors and dentists who, in accordance with § 83 Para. Radiation Protection Act, determine how the application should be carried out (justifying indication)
- Veterinarians who use ionizing radiation and radioactive substances in accordance with Section 146 (1) of the Radiation Protection Ordinance in the context of veterinary medicine
- Written application signed by the applicant
- Required documents:
- Certificates of suitable training (training certificate, master craftsman certificate, university certificate).
- Evidence of practical experience. (Qualified certificate of expertise)
- Certificate of successful participation in the required radiation protection courses
The issue or non-issue of a certificate of specialist knowledge is subject to a fee. The fees are calculated according to the time spent in accordance with § 2 of the fee schedule. The Chamber of Physicians, Chamber of Dentists and Chamber of Veterinarians have their own fee regulations.
- You fill out the respective application forms completely or you submit the application informally and send it to the Office for Occupational Safety and Health - Department for Radiation Protection or the responsible body including the documents listed in the application.
- If the documents or information required for processing are incomplete, you will be contacted by the administrative department.
- If the prerequisites for the granting of a specialist qualification are met, you will receive the specialist qualification certificate by post or e-mail.
- If the requirements for issuing a certificate of specialist knowledge are not met, you will receive a corresponding notification.
- The decision will be sent to you by e-mail or by post.
- The notification of fees will be sent to you later.
- Authority for Justice and Consumer Protection, Office for Occupational Safety and Health is responsible for issuing certificates of specialist knowledge in the technical field and for medical physics experts.
- The Hamburg Medical Association is responsible for issuing certificates of specialist knowledge for doctors (human medicine) .
- The Hamburg Chamber of Dentists is responsible for issuing specialist certificates for dentists .
- The Hamburg Chamber of Veterinarians is responsible for issuing specialist certificates for veterinarians .
Objections to the decision can be lodged with the competent authority/department within one month of notification.
