If you work as a prostitute in Germany, you are obliged to register with the authorities. The registration is limited in time and must be extended.
If you work as a prostitute in Germany, you are required to register with the authorities and seek medical advice beforehand. The obligation to register and seek medical advice applies without exception to all people who provide sexual services for payment. Medical advice and registration must be done in person. If you are between 18 and 21 years old, you must have your registration certificate renewed after one year. If you are older than 21, you must renew your registration after two years. A registration certificate can also be renewed in Hamburg if the previous registration certificate was issued in another federal state.

• Current photo/photograph without border, 45 mm high x 35 mm wide
• Current registration certificate / confirmation of registration (not older than 3 months) for your place of residence or main residence or, if you do not have a permanent residence, proof of a delivery address.
• If you are not an EU citizen, you must provide documents proving that you have permission to work in Germany.
• A certificate of participation in a health consultation within the previous three months.
• Current photo/photograph without border, 45 mm high x 35 mm wide
• Current registration certificate / confirmation of registration (not older than 3 months) for your place of residence or main residence or, if you do not have a permanent residence, proof of a delivery address.

Before the extension, you must undergo another health consultation. You will receive a new certificate confirming that you have taken part in the health consultation. This is valid nationwide and must be presented when registering with the authorities.
The extension of the registration certificate takes place in conjunction with a further information and consultation meeting.
If the necessary requirements are met, you will be issued a new registration certificate and, if requested, a new alias certificate. Please make an appointment with Pro*BEA to register. The information and consultation for the extension can also be held in the respective native language if required. It is not necessary to bring your own translator.
