If you want to build or significantly modify a heating oil consumer system or take measures that result in a change in the hazard level, you must notify us.
Heating oil consumer systems are systems for storing, filling and using heating oil. You must report the construction or significant modification of a heating oil consumer system as well as the implementation of measures that lead to a change in the hazard level of the heating oil consumer system to the responsible authority. This also applies to heating oil consumer systems in private households that are located within a water protection or flood zone.
- Detailed documents describing the project such as
- Site plan
- Drawings, evidence, descriptions of the location, the delimitation of the facility, the handling of water-polluting substances, the containers, safety equipment, pipelines and building inspection certificates of usability
- If necessary, expert opinion
Your heating oil consumer system must comply with the requirements of the Ordinance on Systems for Handling Substances Hazardous to Water (AwSV).
- You submit your report via the online service. Alternatively, you can send your report in writing to the responsible authority.
- The responsible authority will check your documents for completeness and for compliance with the content requirements and will request any missing information or documents from you if necessary.
- The responsible authority may prohibit the project temporarily or permanently or issue a decision with conditions. You will be informed accordingly in writing
You do not have to report the installation of a heating oil consumer system if
- a suitability assessment is requested for this facility under the Water Resources Act or
- the plant is subject to an approval procedure under other legal provisions, provided that the approval procedure also ensures that the requirements of this regulation are met. In this case, significant changes to the plant that require approval are also not subject to notification.
