You must notify the responsible authority under certain conditions of any change in the location, condition or operation of a wastewater treatment plant.
If you want to make a change to your wastewater treatment system, which ones
- the location, condition or operation of your facility and
- does not require approval and
- can have an impact on the environment
Documents must be submitted that demonstrate the nature, scope and effects of the intended change. The specific documents required depend on the type of system and the type of wastewater that is handled in the system. It is therefore recommended that you contact the responsible office in advance and ask for the documents required in your specific case.
- You must build, operate and maintain wastewater systems in such a way that the requirements for wastewater disposal are met.
- Wastewater treatment plants that require approval must be built, operated and maintained by you in accordance with the state of the art.
- It is recommended that you contact the responsible authority in advance to determine whether your project requires notification or approval. The responsible office can also provide you with the necessary documents.
- You submit your report together with the necessary documents to the responsible authority.
- The responsible authority will check your ad for completeness and whether it may require approval and, if necessary, request any missing documents from you.
- The result of the test will be communicated to you.
The processing time depends on the quality and scope of the applications and documents submitted.
The obligation to report applies to independently operated industrial wastewater treatment plants that are not ancillary facilities within the meaning of Section 1 Paragraph 2 No. 2 of the 4th BImSchV. Furthermore, the wastewater must come from one or more plants in accordance with the Industrial Emissions Directive (IE-RL) and not fall under the Municipal Wastewater Directive (91/271/EEC).
