If you want to run a breeding or multiplication business for domestic poultry or a hatchery, you must register with the competent authority upon application.
If you want to run a business whose activity consists of placing hatching eggs in incubators, incubating these eggs and delivering chicks, you must register with the competent authority upon application.

- “breeding establishment”: establishment whose activity consists in the production of hatching eggs for the production of breeding chicks, reproduction chicks or chicks for use;
- “Reproduction farm”: farm whose activity consists in the production of hatching eggs for the production of chicks for use;
- “Hatchery”: establishments whose activity consists of placing hatching eggs in incubators, incubating these eggs and delivering chicks.
The following companies must be registered:
- Hatcheries with a capacity of 1,000 eggs or more
- Breeding and multiplication operations with 100 animals or more
- You submit an informal, written application to register your business with the responsible authority.
- The responsible authority will examine your application
- You will receive written notification of the result of the examination.
- When you register you will receive your own identification number.
No. However, registration must take place before starting work. It is therefore advisable to submit the application early.
An objection to the registration decision can be lodged within one month. The responsible office can be found in the respective notice.
