If you collect or transport waste or want to trade waste, you must report the activity to the responsible authority.

As a collector, transporter, dealer or broker of waste, you must report this activity to the competent authority.
If you carry out this activity with hazardous waste and are exempt from the permit requirement, you must attach additional documents to your notification (for example, for craft businesses)
If you have already reported your activity and your details have changed significantly, you must report it again. The reporting requirement applies to national and cross-border waste shipments.

• Your waste disposal company number(s) as a collector, transporter, broker or dealer of waste (if already issued to you)
• the transaction number of your initial notification (only if you want to create a change notification)
• Your business registration (if there is an obligation to register a business)
• an extract from the commercial, association or cooperative register (if an application has been made)

If you are exempt from the requirement to obtain a permit to handle hazardous waste:

• Your waste disposal company certificate or your registration certificate as a certified EMAS company (if your company has the relevant certification; in the form of a PDF file with a maximum file size of 2 MB)
• proof of business and environmental liability insurance (if such exists)
• Evidence of the professional qualifications of the persons responsible for the performance and supervision of the operation

They meet the requirements of those required to report or obtain a permit as well as the requirements for other personnel with specialist knowledge and expertise, which are specified in the Ordinance on the Notification and Permit Procedure for Collectors, Transporters, Traders and Brokers of Waste (Notification and Permit Ordinance - AbfAEV).
Where applicable, they comply with the documentation and registration requirements for hazardous waste.

Fees range from 30.00 euros to 120.00 euros.

If you want to start working as a collector, transporter, dealer or broker of waste for the first time or if you want to change essential information about your activity, report this to the responsible authority. By email or using the online form, you provide your details and submit the necessary documents. If necessary, the authority will send you a confirmation of your notification and your activity

• make it dependent on conditions,
• and/or limit them in time
• or provided with conditions
• or ban them completely.

Processing takes approximately 30 minutes.

You must file the report before you start carrying out the activity.

If you want to transport, collect, trade or broker hazardous waste, you need a permit. Simply reporting the activity is not enough. Under certain circumstances, you can be exempted from the permit requirement.
