§§ 1ff. Driving instructor law (FahrlG) prescribes possession of a driving instructor license.
- a valid identity card or valid passport with a current registration certificate
- a driving license (class BE and three years of possession of a class B driving license are required)
- a certificate of participation in the course at the driving instructor training centre
- a CV
- a medical report in accordance with Annex 5.1 and 6 of the Driving Licence Regulation
- a certificate from an ophthalmologist in accordance with Annex 6 of the Driving Licence Regulations
- proof of completed vocational training in a recognized training occupation or a high school diploma
- an extended certificate of good conduct
- the appointment confirmation
People who want to become a driving instructor must be at least 21 years old and have their main residence in Hamburg. In addition, they must be able to prove either a high school diploma or completed vocational training in a recognized training occupation.
The training to become a driving instructor lasts at least twelve months.
Only the LBV-Nord location is responsible for matters relating to driving instructors and driving schools.
