I recommend that you provide a consent form from you for your minor child who is travelling abroad without parents.

If a child travels abroad without being accompanied by his or her parents or one of his or her parents, he or she should be given an informal consent form in addition to the required identification documents. This must state that the legal guardian(s) agrees to the trip abroad.
The consent form should contain the following information:

• Personal details of the child,
• Personal details and contact details of the legal guardian,
• Itinerary and
• if applicable, the personal details of the adult accompanying person(s).

In case of a name difference, the child should also provide a copy

• his birth certificate and
• the ID data page of the legal guardian

carry with them.
Depending on the destination country,

• signatures of the consent form must be certified,
• the consent form must be in the language of the respective target country
  to be translated,
• a translated court custody decision is required.

Some countries do not allow children traveling with only one parent with custody to enter the country without a consent form from the other parent with custody.

If both parents have custody and one parent wants to travel abroad alone with the child, the other parent should also provide such a consent form. This makes it easier for border authorities to distinguish normal travel with the child from attempted child abductions.
