If you, as a parent or parent-to-be, feel unsure or overwhelmed, you can get advice and support.

The first years of a child's life are particularly important for the healthy development of a child. Pregnancy and birth in particular are often associated with major changes and uncertainties for (expectant) parents and families. Overwork in everyday life, social isolation, psychological stress, addiction problems, illnesses, young age or material poverty can lead to excessive demands.

During this time, you as (expectant) parents may need information or health and psychosocial advice and support to strengthen and support you in your efforts to ensure that your child grows up healthy and well.

The Early Help field of action offers you as (expectant) parents or families with infants and toddlers aged 0-3 years this support around birth and the first years of life.

Central offers in Hamburg are for example

• the baby guides at the maternity clinics,
• local family teams and regional network structures,
• Family midwives,
• Family health and pediatric nurses
• Social educators

If necessary, they will accompany you to appointments with doctors or authorities, for example. With your consent, they will refer you to other support agencies in the regional network if necessary.

If you require any documents, these will be provided to you when you make the appointment or during your first consultation.

You are a parent or family member of a child under 3 years of age.

You make an appointment for an initial consultation. During the appointment, the consultant will discuss all possible next steps with you.
