§ 28 SGB II

Within the approval period, the monthly amounts (15 euros flat rate per month) can also be saved, for example to finance a holiday camp. The participation amounts can be saved for a maximum period of twelve months. The savings option of the monthly flat rate of 15 euros exists for the entire approval period.
Example: The approval period is twelve months. With a monthly participation fee of 15 euros, that is a total of 180 euros that can be saved and used for a vacation.
This savings can also be made retrospectively for the entire approval period if no educational and participation benefits have been claimed and the approval period has not yet ended. The prerequisite is always the currently valid permit notice. Expired notifications cannot be used.
In addition, beneficiaries can also save up the costs for time off beyond their existing approval period by using a follow-up approval for time off.

The notification of approval or the certificate (confirmation of service) must be submitted to the service provider

The certificate (confirmation of benefits) is a short notification that only contains the data required for applying for benefits (name, approval period, date of birth, address, legal basis for benefit receipt).
Those entitled to benefits under SGB II must first apply for this at the job center team.arbeit.hamburg. For beneficiaries from the other legal spheres, an automatic delivery takes place.

Equipment is included in the amount.

Eligible are children under the age of 18 who (or their parents) receive benefits under SGB II, SGB XII, §§ 2 or 3 AsylbLG or housing benefit or child allowance.

Example 2:
1st permit + follow-up permit after expiry of the 1st permit.
In these cases, the service providers of leisure time will bill them in installments. This means that, unless another socio-cultural offer has already been used for the underlying approval period, beneficiaries can save the monthly amount over the entire approval period and use it as the first partial payment for a holiday. The connection permit can then also be used by the beneficiary for the further costs. The service providers can thus settle the costs of a free time in installments with the city of Hamburg
Concrete example in the SGB II legal sphere: initially 90 euros due to the first permit for six months and later, if a follow-up permit is available, another 90 euros.
If a pending follow-up permit is not granted, e.g. because the parents have started work and they do not change to another group of eligibility in the education package (example: beneficiaries under SGB II take up work, but then receive housing benefit and are therefore still entitled to educational benefits and participation), the remaining costs would have to be borne by the parents from their income in this case (since there is no further entitlement to benefits for education and participation).
