The Jugendleiter/in-Card, Juleica for short, is a nationwide standard ID card for youth leaders.
The Juleica is a nationwide uniform ID card for youth leaders and is required or can be used for the following purposes, among others:
• for legitimation towards parents of children and young people in care
• for legitimation as a youth leader to authorities and other bodies and institutions; e.g. B. for requests for help (police, consulates, youth welfare offices, etc.)
• as a prerequisite for receiving special leave for youth leaders to carry out certain youth work measures (e.g. holiday camps), in each case in accordance with state or federal regulations
• as a prerequisite for youth leaders to receive compensation for loss of earnings from state support plan funds (e.g. when supervising holiday camps or taking part in initial training for youth leaders; also as a team leader) (note: only for youth leaders in Hamburg youth associations)
• to borrow books and other media free of charge from Hamburg's public book halls
• to receive books and other publications on political education free of charge from the State Center for Political Education
• to borrow media and devices free of charge from the State Institute for Teacher Training and School Development in Hamburg
• to purchase discounted tickets (“blue tickets”) for the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV) for children and young people up to the age of 21 and to accompany groups while traveling on the HVV transport network • to legitimize the use of rooms for events in public buildings ( eg in schools and houses of the youth) through youth association groups
• for free membership in the German Youth Hostel Association and a 10 percent discount on accommodation and meals for a private stay
• to receive further discounts, benefits, assistance (voluntary services) from public or private institutions or providers, for the youth leader or for his/her group

Applicants must register at www.juleica-anmeldung.de and submit the application there.
The Juleica is primarily intended for continuously active volunteers in child and youth work. It can be issued to part-time and full-time employees if they work as youth leaders.
Responsibility for the selection of the youth leader and their training and further education is borne by the applicant youth welfare agency. By activating the online application, the provider declares that the person for whom the Juleica is being applied for is suitable for fulfilling the tasks of a youth leader and has received adequate training or (if it is issued again) further training.
